Juvederm XC

Before i start this post,i just want to say that i am by no means any sort of expert on this topic.I can only offer my personal opinions and share my experience with you.Everyone has different thoughts, these are just mine :)

So for my birthday this year,my boyfriend got me lip fillers. That may sound super weird but trust me its not.I had been pestering him for months about it until he finally said yes.The one thing about any sort of cosmetic procedure, its important to be doing it for yourself. My boyfriend was actually 100% against it,but i would not let someone control what i want to do.Nothing is more annoying than hearing the classic "but you don't need it" line.Things like plastic surgery, tattoos, makeup, any sort of body modification is not about NEEDING it its about WANTING it.I also want to get implants soon, but i've wanted them since i was a little girl.I don't NEED to have larger breasts i just WANT them.I don't dislike my chest, fuck GIVE IT UP FOR A CUPS.To me personally though,i would like to have larger boobies.

So,i won't bore you with the details of finding a doctor and pricing etc (DO YOUR RESEARCH) I found someone i wanted to go to,and i set up an appointment. My goal was to have more "pouty" lips.I wanted it to be dramatic but don't get me wrong, this was not the look i was going for

I wanted to leave with a difference in my appearance but nothing insane. The filler i chose to use is Juvederm XC.This particular filler has something inside of it called lidocaine and it actually helps numb your lips while its being injected. This filler has a very high longevity claim (9 months) I have heard of it lasting on people for 3 months,6 months,or even more.I think it really depends on the person.Juvederm is one of the safer injections because what its made of is a product that our body naturally produces. So the chances of any sort of reaction are very minimal.

I have heard from a lot of people that lip injections hurt like a son of a bitch.I wouldn't say i have a super high pain tolerance but i can honestly say it did not hurt me at all.The topical numbing cream that was used on me was super strong and i felt like i was drooling everywhere. Then with the actual lidocaine thats in the filler,i didn't feel a thing. Its a very hard feeling to describe because it feels like a quick prick but not in the same way as a shot from the doctors would. Its a quick prick but then it goes deeper into the tissue and you feel filler going in.That sounds totally scary but i promise you its not.I DIDNT EVEN FLINCH and my eyes didn't tear which shocked me beyond belief. The top lip i definitely felt more than the bottom lip,but again it wasn't anything that affected me.Once the injections were finished, the doctor manipulated my lips a bit and moved the fillers around. It felt very odd.We wound up using one syringe and had a tiny bit left over.Looking back,i wish i just finished it but she said it wasn't enough to keep both lips even.I didn't want one lip to be noticeably larger than the other. It has to be the perfect ratio of plump.

As far as healing,it went very smoothly.I iced my lips for about 2 days on and off.I didn't use any sort of lip products or makeup around the area or on them. The doctor suggested i wait so that the injection holes would close.I couldn't kiss though (womp womp womp)
I did not bruise at all.IM NOT FUCKING WITH YOU,i had not one bruise on the inside of my lips or on the outside.I loaded up with arnica montana the day before, the day of,and a few days after and it certainly kept any bruising from happening.

Its been two weeks since I've had them done, and i can say I'm very happy i did it.To me,the swelling (which is usually everyones least favorite part) was my favorite. They were so swollen and huge,i was obsessed haha.Since then, they've gone down to the size they'll stay.I can see why some people would not like juvederm. It is a very thick filler (hence its longevity) and i can certainly feel it in my lips.It does not bother me though.I'd rather feel it and have something that'll last somewhat long as opposed to spending so much money on something that won't be noticeable after a month.Everyones preference is different.I don't think ill ever consider using a different filler.

If you're deciding to do something cosmetic to yourself, just remember to do research.Find someone you're comfortable with.Someone who isn't going to try and talk you out of anything but rather take what you're saying and make it work with their experience.Find someone that has a good consult  with you and answers any and every question you have. After you find the person, its in your hands. So many people will try and talk you out of things, but when you know your mind is made up just do it.Life goes by so quickly not to do things we wanna do.I never wanna look back and say "ah i wish i did this when i was younger."
I hope this helped!Ill attach some photos now.
